A solid 15.1 mile hiking day. Even better - I was finished by 3pm and have been able to rest this afternoon. This was the intent with going a little shorter on mileage - get off the feet earlier and get the pack off the hurting shoulder.

I’m here at camp with Good Will and Slow as Molasses. Good Will and I arrived into camp about the same time. He hiked the AT last year and is doing a thru-hike of the Long Trail this year. He’s a super fast hiker - completing the AT last year in 4 months and 10 days. He had plans to do the Camino de Santiago in Spain this year - until Covid-19 shut down his plans.

Slow as Molasses arrived into camp about 5pm. She started a little later this morning. All 3 of us are hiking into Manchester Center tomorrow. Only a 10.6 mile hike - we’re planning to hit up a restaurant in town people have mentioned in the Guthooks app - then a hotel stay.

The hike today went pretty smooth. The trail wasn’t as technical as the past few days. We did have an 1800’ climb to the summit of Stratton Mountain. Another fire tower led to great views. It was a quick 3.1 mile descent into camp. Days like this are nice - I didn’t over exert myself and had some down time at camp to chill.

Here’s to another smooth day tomorrow - focused on rest and good food in Manchester Center.
