Costa Rica - Day #9

 Costa Rica Trip

Day #9 - Friday, January 16th

It’s 10pm here in Cancun, Mexico.  We’re now on east coast time in the US.  A busy travel day today.  

I had a pretty leisurely pace to the morning in comparison to the rest of the trip.  I woke up about 7am and headed to the hotel gym for an hour workout.  Felt great!   Haven’t lifted weights since the trip started - nice to get it going again.  After the gym, I met up with Greg at 9am and we had a great breakfast - sitting outside near the pool. 

After breakfast we met up with Gus and Kipp and grabbed an Uber together to the airport. Greg and I had a 1:30pm flight from San Jose, Costa Rica to Cancun, Mexico. Travel went smoothly today. We got into Cancun about 4:45pm and got an Uber to our hotel - Casa Tortugas Boutique Hotel. 

We arrived just in time to throw our gear in the room and make our way to the rooftop bar to watch an unbelievable sunset.  Wow!!  It was a picture-perfect night - temperatures maybe 65 degrees, no wind, only a couple people on the rooftop, a margarita in hand — not a bad way to end the day.

Before calling it a night we walked to dinner - a restaurant called Krudo (recommended by our hotel).  Excellent!  We had some fish tacos and some chips/guacamole.  

Tomorrow we have a day tour setup to tour Chichen Itza - one of the new Seven Winders of the World.  We’re being picked up at 5:40am - so time to call it for today!
